WELCOME CHEF TOM!
Born in California and raised in Queens, New York, Thomas Manetta has been working in restaurants since the age of fourteen. He often credits his “Nonna” for having the deepest impact on forming his passion for food.
Chef attended culinary school at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he completed a Bachelors of Science Degree in Culinary Arts and became a teacher’s assistant, working his way up to a fellowship position and finally a chef supervisor for the university.
Upon graduating, Chef Tom worked at Ledgemont Country Club in Seekonk, Massachusetts, and Foxwood Resort and Casino before returning to New York. He moved on to work in many fine restaurants and catering establishments, including Villa Lombardi’s and Hemingway’s American Bar and Grill. After three years of being the sous chef of Hemingway’s, he was promoted to the executive chef position at the young age of twenty seven.
Most recently, Chef Tom was the Executive Chef at Smuggler Jacks restaurant in Massapequa. He used this as an opportunity to fine tune his skills in working with steak and especially seafood. He received a nod from Newsday for his lobster roll, and a segment on News 12 for top waterfront dining locations.
Chef is coming to Woodside Club with the desire to elevate our cuisine and improve the overall dining experience here for our members. He plans to bring his unique take and contemporary style to classical dishes while maintaining the integrity of the ingredients. He is excited to be part of the Woodside team and looks forward to serving you.
